Cedar Garden Room with Rooftop Terrace

A garden room that gives you the garden — on two levels.

This client wanted more than a garden room — they wanted to make full use of their outdoor space above and below. The solution was a cedar-clad garden room with a fully usable rooftop terrace, accessed via an external anthracite-painted staircase with a glass and timber balustrade.

The ground floor is a light-filled retreat with French doors opening directly onto the garden. Cedar cladding wraps the exterior with a warm, natural finish that blends into the landscaped surroundings. Full insulation and electrics make it a genuine year-round space.

The rooftop terrace is the centrepiece. Enclosed by a frameless glass balustrade, it gives an elevated view across the garden and is finished with composite decking to handle the Irish weather. The anthracite staircase is structural and striking — a design feature as much as a practical one.
