A patio lives or dies on what is underneath it. Every job we do starts with a properly excavated and compacted sub-base using MOT Type 1 stone. Drainage falls are set before the first slab goes down, and edging restraints are bedded in concrete so the perimeter holds its line over years of use.
We work in porcelain, natural limestone, granite, and concrete block paving depending on the application and budget. Porcelain is our most requested material — it handles Irish weather without staining, does not need sealing and stays looking good year on year. Whatever material you choose, the preparation underneath is the same standard. Slabs dropped on sand are not something we do.
Our team handles every aspect in-house: excavation, sub-base, drainage, laying and grouting. One crew, one price, no coordination between separate trades. We have completed over 100 paving projects across Dublin and Leinster and every one gets the same attention to groundworks.
- Porcelain, natural limestone, sandstone and granite — supply and lay
- Block, tegula, cobble and sett paving for driveways and paths
- Excavated and compacted MOT Type 1 sub-base on every project — no shortcuts
- Correct drainage falls designed and set before laying — no pooling water
- Concrete-bedded edgings and kerbs — no movement, no creep over time
- Ground membrane installed to prevent weeds pushing through joints
Groundworks done right.
Every single time.
The difference between a patio that lasts 20 years and one that shifts, cracks or pools water within two years is entirely in the preparation. We never skip the sub-base, never drop slabs on sand and never cut corners on drainage. It takes more time and costs more to do it right — but it is the only way we work.
We carry every trade in-house: groundworks, drainage, laying, cutting and grouting. There are no handoffs between separate companies. One team is accountable for the job from first dig to final clean, and one number to call if anything needs attention afterwards.

Every project starts with a free site visit. We look at the space, discuss the material options and give you a fixed written price — not a ballpark that grows once work starts. We will also advise on drainage, levels and any planning considerations that apply to your specific site.
In most cases patios and paving are exempt from planning permission under Irish regulations. We will flag anything that needs attention at the visit. We have completed projects of all scales — from small courtyard patios to full driveway replacements across Dublin and Leinster.

Paving FAQs
Straight answers to the questions we hear most before a site visit.
-
A typical garden patio of 30m² to 60m² takes two to four days from excavation to grouted finish, depending on the complexity of the layout and any drainage work required. Larger areas or projects involving steps, raised sections or drainage channels will take longer. We will give you a specific programme when we price the job. We do not rush the mortar cure times — the slabs are left to set properly before we grout.

For garden patios, large-format porcelain is our top recommendation. It handles freeze-thaw cycles without cracking, does not absorb moisture, resists staining from leaves and algae, and does not require annual sealing. Natural limestone and sandstone look great but need sealing and occasional maintenance. For driveways and higher-traffic areas, granite or quality block paving on a well-prepared base is the most practical choice. We will advise based on your specific use case and budget during the site visit.

In most cases, no. Garden patios, paths and paved areas are generally exempt from planning permission under Irish regulations. Driveways that create a new or widened access onto a public road may require permission, and in some estates there are deed restrictions on hard landscaping to the front. Our team will flag anything relevant when they visit. We have never had a patio project held up by planning — it is rarely an issue for standard garden work.
