Charcoal Decking & Glass Balustrade

Composite decking that looks better than timber — and lasts longer.

This raised deck needed to feel premium without blocking the garden view below the balustrade. The answer was a frameless glass system — no posts interrupting the sightline, just clean glass panels set into a low-profile aluminium base track. The view from the house across the garden is completely unobstructed.

The boards are Millboard — a composite product that replicates the look and texture of hardwood without any of the maintenance. No oiling, no sanding, no staining. The charcoal tone was chosen to work with the client's dark window frames and existing paving, pulling the rear elevation together as a coherent palette.

We used a hidden fixing system throughout, which means the board surface has no visible screws — a detail that makes a real difference to how the finished deck reads. Fascia boards on all open edges give a clean, furniture-grade finish. Completed in five working days.
